  The United Nations International Maritime Organization (IMO) and its International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) classify such tanks into the following categories:

  (1) IMO 0 type

  (2) IMO Type 1

  Dangerous cargo tanks, with a maximum permissible working pressure of 1.75 bar or more, liquid chemicals with a flash point below 0 °C, certain toxic or highly corrosive chemicals, pyrophoric cargoes, goods that are dangerous if wet, Self-oxidizing cargo, liquid cargo with a sealing pressure not exceeding the allowable pressure of the tank, for tanks carrying corrosive and non-stable cargoes, shall be constructed of special steel and consider the necessary lining, tank at 65"C The internal water vapor pressure and the resulting partial pressures of 0.35 kg/cm2 are not allowed to exceed the design pressure of the tank, and the material can be discharged from the bottom of the tank or the top of the tank.

  (3) IMO 2 type

  Sub-hazardous cargo tanks with a maximum allowable working pressure of more than 1.0 bar and less than 1.75 bar, a liquid cargo with a flash point of 0 ° C to 61 ° C and no other hazards, certain hazardous, toxic or less corrosive chemicals The liquid cargo with a sealing pressure lower than 172.4 kPa but not exceeding the allowable working pressure of the tank shall be discharged from the bottom of the tank.

  (4) IMO Type 4

  A road tanker with a Type 1 or Type 2 box.

  (5) IMO Type 5

  Liquid gas tank for the shipment of non-refrigerated liquefied gases or less dangerous ambient chemicals, discharged from the bottom of the tank.

  (6) IMO 6 type

  A road tanker with a type 5 box.

  (7) IMO Type 7

  A refrigerated liquid gas tank with insulation, which carries refrigerated liquefied gas or low temperature liquefied gas and liquid perishable goods that require temperature control, and is discharged from the bottom of the tank.

  (8) IMO Type 8

  A road tanker with a 7-box.
